Reproduction Parts
Everyone knows about the likes of Rare Spares, Kingswood Country, Holdspares, etc for the purchase of reproduction parts. I have used these companies myself, but they are limited in what they have.
Sometimes you need something that they don’t reproduce, and then you have to try and find either a New Old Stock (NOS) item, or something second hand.
But there are other options available.
There is a bloke named Andrew Lee on Facebook who runs “HQ Restoration Supplies“, and he has commissioned the reproduction of many HQ Parts. HQ Restoration Supplies is an extremely useful resource, particularly if you are trying to get your car back to original.
I have purchased the following items from him:
- Choke Pipes
- Choke Pipe Insulation Sleeve
- Choke Pipe Clips
- Inner Guard Splash Shields
- Heater Valve/Tap
- Right Angle Water Spigot (bolts on top of Intake Manifold for hose that goes to the Thermostat Cover)
All parts the Andrew supplies are made to the original GMH specifications. I have been most impressed with both the quality and fit.
Other Parts
Now obviously, reproduction parts are not your only option.
I have sourced many other “original” used parts online, mostly through Facebook Marketplace, but also through Ebay.
